Host University: Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina

The Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) is one of Brazil’s leading public universities and a recognized center of excellence in education, research, and innovation. Florianópolis, the capital of the state of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil, is widely recognized as one of the country’s most attractive and livable cities. Climate: Florianópolis has a humid subtropical climate, characterized by mild winters and warm summers. During the conference period in March, attendees can typically expect pleasant temperatures ranging from 20 °C to 30 °C, with a mix of sunny days and occasional rainfall.

Currency and Payments: Brazil’s currency is the Brazilian Real (BRL). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted throughout the city, and digital payment methods are commonly used.

Power: Brazil uses a standard voltage of 220V and a frequency of 60 Hz in Florianópolis. Power outlets generally follow the Brazilian Type N standard.

Visa Information

Brazil adopts a reciprocal visa policy. This means that citizens of countries that require visas for Brazilian nationals may also be required to obtain a visa to enter Brazil. As a result of bilateral agreements and reciprocal arrangements, Brazil currently has visa exemption agreements with approximately 90 countries. Examples of countries whose citizens currently require a visa to enter Brazil include the United States, Canada, and Australia. Citizens of European Union member states do not require a traditional visa to enter Brazil for tourism or business purposes.
